These are the Official Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) that govern the relationship between Hackster.io, an Avnet community ("Administrator"), Nordic Semiconductor (“Sponsor”), and you (the “Entrant”) in relation to the DevAcademy Hardware Giveaway (“DevAcademy Giveaway”).

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Unless otherwise noted, no purchase is necessary to enter or win a prize. A purchase, if one is available, will not improve your chances of winning.

APPLICABLE LAW (VOID WHERE PROHIBITED): DevAcademy Giveaway is subject to and governed by applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Participation in this DevAcademy Giveaway is void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.

DATES OF DEVACADEMY GIVEAWAY:

The “DevAcademy Giveaway” will start at 9:00am Pacific Time (“PT”) on September 16, 2024 and end at 11:59pm PT on December 20, 2024 (“Giveaway Period”), subject to entry periods (“Entry Period”) and approximate drawing periods (“Drawing Period”) as outlined in ENTRY PERIODS section below.

Drawing Period 2: Week of November 18, 2024 - November 22, 2024

Drawing Period 3: Week of December 16, 2024 - December 20, 2024

ELIGIBILITY:

By entering, you indicate your full and unconditional agreement to, and acceptance of these Terms and the decision of the Administrator, which are final and binding in all respects. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth.

The DevAcademy Giveaway is open only to persons who are at least the minimum age of majority in their place of residence at the time of entry.

Residents of Belarus, Burma/Myanmar, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela and/or any country prohibited by law or export restrictions or otherwise, regardless of legal residency are not eligible to participate in the DevAcademy Giveaway and will be disqualified. Residents of the regions of Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk are not eligible.

By participating in the DevAcademy Giveaway, Entrants warrant that they are eligible to participate under the applicable local laws governing procurement of prizes and awards. Administrator reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant if Administrator determines, in its sole discretion, that Entrant’s participation in the DevAcademy Giveaway or receipt of prize would violate local law or cause damage to the reputation of the Administrator and/or any other party. Entrants may be required to submit proof of their eligibility.

Hackster.io, Avnet and/or Nordic Semiconductor employees and their immediate family members and/or persons living in the same household and any others engaged in the execution or administration of the DevAcademy Giveaway are not eligible to participate.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. FORM SUBMISSION:

Visit http://events.hackster.io/devacademy-giveaway during the Giveaway Period and fill out the submission form.

The Entrant will be identified through their Hackster user profile URL. To submit one (1) entry ("Entry") into the DevAcademy Giveaway, Entrant must:

1. Create a new, free Hackster.io account at https://hackster.io, or use their existing account
2. Join the Nordic Semiconductor community on Hackster at https://www.hackster.io/nordic-semiconductor
3. Register and create a DevAcademy account at https://academy.nordicsemi.com/.
4. Complete 2 out of 4 DevAcademy courses.
5. Post a comment with your feedback on your DevAcademy experience at https://hackster.io/nordic-semiconductor
6. Fill out the submission form found on https://events.hackster.io/devacademy-giveaway in its entirety, including uploading a Certificate of Completion for 2 DevAcademy courses, a link to your comment on https://www.hackster.io/nordic-semiconductor, country of residence, name, and email, and click the “SUBMIT” button.

2. WRITE-IN:

To enter without making a purchase, legibly handwrite the title of this giveaway (“Re: Nordic DevAcademy Hardware Giveaway 2024”), your complete name, and mailing address and mail a postcard or a card that is no smaller than 3 ½ x 5 inches and no larger than 4 ¼ x 6 inches, with proper postage to: Avnet / Hackster, 2000 Center Dr. Suite B401, Hoffman Estates, IL 60192. All write-in entries must be received by December 6, 2024. An envelope/postcard is considered one (1) entry into the DevAcademy Giveaway. Multiple entries submitted or completed by anyone other than the Entrant are void. No mechanical reproductions will be accepted. Write-in entries must contain all entry fields outlined above; otherwise, they are void and will not be eligible to win.

Regardless of the entry method used to enter the DevAcademy Giveaway, Entrant is limited to one (1) entry during the Giveaway Period. Any attempt by any Entrant to obtain more than one entry by using multiple/different identities, email addresses, and/or any other methods will void that Entrant’s entries and that Entrant may be disqualified. No mechanically or programmatically reproduced entries are permitted.

Neither Administrator nor Sponsor is responsible for any entry that is lost, late, illegible, stolen, mutilated, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, postage-due, misdirected or undeliverable, whether due to system errors, omissions, interruption, deletions, defects, delay in operations or transmissions, theft or destruction or failures, faulty transmissions or other telecommunications malfunctions, human error, entries not received resulting from any hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete or garbled computer or telephone transmissions, typographical or system errors and failures, faulty transmissions, technical malfunctions, or otherwise. Only fully completed entries are eligible. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Administrator or Sponsor.

PRIZE DRAWINGS:

There will be a total of three (3) drawings (“Prize Drawings”) from among all the eligible entries received during the Giveaway Period. During each Drawing Period, ten (10) winners ("Prize Winner") will be selected among all eligible entries received during the current and all prior Entry Periods. In the event that an Entrant wins a prize in a Prize Drawing, that Entrant will be removed from any subsequent Prize Drawings.

WINNING/ODDS:

Each Drawing Period will include entries from the current and all prior Entry Periods (e.g. during Drawing Period 2, winners will be drawn from all eligible entries received in both Entry Period 1 and Entry Period 2) outlined in the "Entry Period" section above. Odds of winning a prize are dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Giveaway Period.

In the event that a Prize Winner is disqualified for any reason, even if the disqualified Prize Winner’s name may have been publicly announced, Administrator shall have no liability or obligation to such individual.

Administrator reserves the right not to award all prizes if, in its sole discretion, it receives an insufficient number of eligible and qualified submissions. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Terms and Conditions.

PRIZES:

One (1) nRF7022 EK and a choice of (1) of the following will be awarded to up to (30) Entrants Prize Winners, depending on the course needs.

(1) nRF5340 DK or

(1) nRF9161 DK or

(1) nRF7002 DK

Prizes are provided “as is”, and the Administrator and Sponsor make no warranty, representation or guarantee regarding any prize, including but not limited to its quality, condition, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. No transfer, substitution, or cash redemption of prizes is permitted, except at Administrator or Sponsor’s sole discretion or as otherwise provided in these Official Terms and Conditions. Administrator and Sponsor reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if prize becomes unavailable due to reasons beyond the control of the Administrator or Sponsor. Winning a prize constitutes permission for the Administrator, Sponsor and their agencies to use Prize Winners' names, addresses (city & state/province/territory) for the prize fulfillment, regardless if the prize is virtual or physical.

If you are a potential winner, we may require you to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and/or Liability/Publicity Release. You are advised to seek independent counsel regarding the possible tax implications of accepting a prize. The Administrator will not provide additional tax documentation. If you are a potential winner and you are 18 or older but are considered a minor in your place of legal residence, we may require your parent or legal guardian to sign all required forms on your behalf. If you do not complete the required forms as instructed and/or return the required forms within the time period listed on the winner notification message, we may disqualify you and select a runner-up. The Sponsor is responsible for any applicable federal, state and local taxes necessary when shipping prizes.

NOTIFICATION:

All Prize Winners will be notified by email via events@hackster.io or mail (the “Winner Notification”). The Winner Notification will be sent to Prize Winner shortly after they are drawn during the Drawing Period. Prize Winner must respond to the Winner Notification within five (5) business days of such Winner Notification, by providing contact and shipping information required for prize fulfillment. If: (a) a Prize Winner fails to respond to the Winner Notification within five (5) business days of the Winner Notification; (b) any Winner Notification is returned as undeliverable; or (c) the Administrator determines, in its sole reasonable discretion, that the Prize Winner has breached these Terms and/or is not eligible in accordance with these Terms that Prize Winner will be disqualified, the prize will not be awarded. All prizes will be awarded approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks after receipt of the required information listed in the Winner Notification.

GENERAL RULES OF PARTICIPATION:

By participating in the DevAcademy Giveaway and to the fullest extent permissible by law, Entrants and Prize Winners release the Administrator and Sponsor from any and all liability, damages or causes of action (but named or described) with respect to or arising out of participation in the DevAcademy Giveaway, and/or the receipt or use/misuse of the prizes awarded, including, without limitation, liability for personal injury, death or property damage. By participating in the DevAcademy Giveaway, Entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and the decisions of the Administrator, which are final in all respects and not subject to appeal. Administrator reserves the right permanently to disqualify any Entrant it reasonably believes has violated these Terms. Submitting an entry in DevAcademy Giveaway constitutes permission for Administrator and Sponsor to use Prize Winners' names, survey form content, and/or videos for purposes of advertising and publicity, in connection with the DevAcademy Giveaway, without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Administrator may prohibit an Entrant from participating in the DevAcademy Giveaway or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, Administrator determines that the Entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the DevAcademy Giveaway by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair playing practices or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other Entrants, Administrator, or Sponsor. If for any reason the DevAcademy Giveaway cannot be conducted as planned, including, but not limited to, by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of Administrator which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the DevAcademy Giveaway, then Administrator reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the DevAcademy Giveaway and randomly draw winners from those entries received up to the cancellation/suspension date.

NO LIABILITY:

By participating and to the fullest extent permissible by law, Entrants agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Administrator, Sponsor and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claims made by Prize Winners, Entrants, or any other third parties, related in any way to the operation of the DevAcademy Giveaway as well as any other claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any DevAcademy Giveaway-related activity.

GOVERNING LAW

The DevAcademy Giveaway and these terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Arizona.

PRIVACY NOTICE:

If not stated otherwise in these Terms, personal information collected from Entrants about Entrants will be incorporated in computerized files belonging to the Administrator and used where applicable in accordance with the respective privacy policy and in accordance with all applicable data protection and privacy laws.

Collection and use of Entrants' personal information in conjunction with participation in the DevAcademy Giveaway shall be governed by the Administrator’s Privacy Policy, accessible at https://www.hackster.io/privacy and/or Sponsor's Privacy Policy, accessible at https://www.nordicsemi.com/Privacy/Privacy-Policy.

By entering the DevAcademy Giveaway, for the purposes of administration, you:

(a) consent to the Administrator handling your entry and your personal information; and

(b) you grant Sponsor all similar rights and authorizations that you have granted to the Administrator in these Terms.

By opting-in to receive marketing when submitting your entry form, you:

(a) consent to share your personal information with the Administrator and Sponsor; and

(b) understand that you can change your communication preferences or unsubscribe at any time.

DevAcademy Giveaway shall not be published without permission of the Administrator.
