Avnet Presents: Intelligent Edge

A Webinar with ST Microelectronics & Edge Impulse

Getting started with TinyML for industrial applications with Edge Impulse on STM32:

TinyML is opening up incredible new applications for sensors on embedded devices, from predictive maintenance to asset tracking applications using vibration, audio, biosignals, and much more! 99% of sensor data is discarded today due to power, cost, or bandwidth constraints.  Together, STMicroelectronics & Edge Impulse are giving your Edge a new TinyML brain.

STMicroelectronics is giving away 20 ST IoT Discovery Kits to webinar participants!

Register and attend the online event, July 21st and your name will be automatically entered in the drawing to win an ST IoT Discovery Kit.

Duration: 1 Hour

45-minute Presentation

15-minute Q&A

What you will learn

  • Learn how TinyML integration in STM32 ecosystem enables simple generation of FW embedding signal processing, Machine Learning and Neural Networks.
  • Problems Edge Impulse and ST can solve with TinyML and the role of signal processing.
  • Hands-on demonstration of the entire process: sensor data capture, feature extraction, model training, testing, and deployment to any device.

Activity detection features extracted from 3-axis acceleration on Edge Impulse. We will train a similar gesture recognition algorithm during this webinar!

Sign up for a free account and work along during the webinar.

Want to do even more? STMIcroelectronics is giving away 20 Discovery Kits to participants who attend the webinar online on July 21st.

In the meantime, here is a great tutorial to begin with now!

About the ST IoT Discovery Kit

The ST IoT Discovery Kit (also known as the B-L475E-IOT01A) is a development board with a Cortex-M4 microcontroller with ultra low power STM32L4, MEMS motion sensors, a microphone, and WiFi - and it's fully supported by Edge Impulse. You'll be able to sample raw data, build models, and deploy trained neural networks directly from the studio.

The Edge Impulse firmware for this development board is open source and hosted on GitHub: edgeimpulse/firmware-st-b-l475e-iot01a.

Co-Founder and CTO

Edge Impulse

Head of AI Solution Marketing

ST Microelectronics

Jan is an open source developer and technology evangelist working on TinyML as the CTO of Edge Impulse. Over the past years he has gone up and down the stack, from embedded to web, and everything in between. Jan is a strong believer of open source, and has written thousands of patches for open source projects, including Mozilla Firefox OS, JerryScript (embedded JS runtime), Arm Mbed.

Raphael is responsible for Artificial Intelligence Marketing in the microcontroller division of STMicroelectronics. He is working on solutions bridging the gap between embedded developers and Machine Learning to bring intelligence onto low-power IoT devices. In his previous roles, he worked for 20 years in Telecom and IoT industries, with a focus on mobile broadband and LPWAN connectivity, security, and low-power applications.
