Expand Your Senses

Neosensory and Edge Impulse Webinar

Neosensory Buzz is a wristband designed for creating new senses by encoding data streams through 4 vibration actuators in low-latency real-time. Built upon the neuroscientific principles of sensory substitution and augmentation.

Edge Impulse was designed for software developers, engineers, and domain experts to solve real problems using machine learning on edge devices without a PhD in machine learning. Their intuitive and flexible cloud-based UI enables even beginners to leverage the power of machine learning in minutes.

When used together, we can create experiences that expand our senses in new and exciting ways. This webinar will walk you through gathering data for the Edge Impulse platform, training a machine learning model, deploying it to an embedded device and connecting to Neosensory Buzz.

This Event Is Over

This webinar is being run in conjunction with the Neosensory and Edge Impulse challenge: Expand your senses .

Expand Your Senses Challenge

Leverage Neosensory’s Buzz haptic wristband and Edge Impulse’s machine learning platform to create powerful new sensory perceptions.  Build applications on any BLE-enabled platform, whether it’s a mobile phone or an Arduino to stream and encode sensory information on Buzz.

Webinar Overview

This 1-hour webinar will cover:

  • Getting started with Edge Impulse
  • Adding data to Edge Impulse
  • Training a model on Edge Impulse
  • Deploying your model and connecting to Neosensory Buzz

Plus, get an opportunity to ask questions about your contest entries in a live Q&A session.

Jan Jongboom

Co-Founder and CTO, Edge Impulse

Jan is an embedded engineer and machine learning advocate, always looking for ways to gather more intelligence from the real world. He has shipped devices, worked on the latest network tech, climbed upon buildings to install gateways, and there is a monument in San Francisco with his name on it.

Dr Scott Novich PhD

Co-founder and CTO of Neosensory

Scott is an Electrical & Computer Engineer and Neuroscientist who received his PhD in Dr. Eagleman’s lab. His thesis work on non-invasive sensory augmentation provides the foundation for Neosensory’s technology. In a previous life, he was a professional music producer on the SF-based label Muti Music and founder of live broadcast Internet radio station glitch.fm. For fun, he helps with music events at the DEF CON hacking conference.
